Welcome to Thru-The-Roof Student Ministry at East Maiden Baptist Church! I am so glad you have come to join us. I pray you will find Thru-The-Roof to be a fun, Biblical environment where your teenager can grow in the Lord. We believe that Jesus is the Savior of the World and Forgiver of Sins. We believe in sharing Him with those around us, worshiping Him with our lives and loving our fellow believers.
The name Thru-The-Roof fits our group well because we are a group of people who will do anything to get our friends to Jesus. In the Gospel of Mark, we read about a man who was paralyzed and bed-ridden. His friends wanted to get him to Jesus to be healed but when Jesus came to town, there were so many people in the house, there was no way they were able to get him along with his bed in the room. So, they went on top of the house, cut a hole in the roof and lowered him THRU-THE-ROOF. These were people who were willing to stop at nothing to get their friend to Jesus. The motto of our student ministry here at East Maiden is "Pulling out all the stops to get our friends to Jesus!" We identify with the group of friends in Mark's story.
There are many opportunities to get involved with our Student Ministry at East Maiden. We meet on Sunday mornings for Sunday School at 9:30 and on Sunday nights for Youth Choir at 5:30 & Bible Study at 6:15. We also meet on Wednesday nights for games at 6:30 and Youth Missions at 6:55. We offer frequent trips, retreats, service projects and various other activities.
